Bass Cab [Jan. 27th, 2005|02:59 pm]
I am sorry to post another message about selling some gear but other than Ebay this is the best place I know. So here it goes.

I am looking to get rid of my bass cabinet to help pay for the one I am building. If you have been to any of our shows lately you have seen / heard it. It is an Ampeg V4 folded 2x15. It is the same size as the 8x10 only much deeper. It has a much deeper tone as well. I did some research to date it and it was made sometime between 1969 and 1972. It is in great shape. The whole cab was constructed out of ¾ inch plywood instead of particleboard and has 1 inch cross braces. Both of the 15’s have been replaced with Carvin’s rated at 400 watts apiece bringing the cab to 800 watts at 4 ohms. The input cup, castors and tolex have all been replaced. It still has the original SVT silver-blue grill cloth, which is in great shape for its age. All in all this is a great cab and I am having a hard time getting rid of it but I need to money for the 4x12 project I am working on. I am asking for $450. If you are interested or have any questions please get a hold of me at thischrysalis@yahoo.com.

Bass Gear For Sale [Sep. 28th, 2004|11:06 pm]
Ok, I have a few items up for sale and I would much rather get rid of them locally than have to ship them. So I have set all the prices fair in my opinion. There are a few pieces of new gear I need to buy so I am clearing house in order to get them. Email if you are interested in any of this or if you have any questions.

1. Ampeg V-4 Bass Cab: I am not sure as to the exact year that this cab was made but I do know that it was somewhere between 1969-1972. It isn’t in to bad of shape other than the absence of tolex on it. It is a 2x15 with the speakers folded in for a deep bass response. If you came to see us this past Friday you saw and heard it. It is not a bad cab at all and sounds good. I am just not into the old school bass tone. It has brand new Carvin 15s in it and can handle 1200 watts @ 4 ohms. It is a little larger than the SVT 8x10 so be ready. I am asking $500 for it.

2. Peavey 4x12 Bass Cab: Again I am not sure as to the date that this cab was made other than it was somewhere in the early 80's. It is still in good shape and has all it’s tolex with just a few very small scratches. It was originally wired for 2 ohms but I rewired it at 8. It has bottom and top slot ports and I believe can handle 300 watts but that could be more since I rewired it. I am not sure. I am asking $250 for it.

3. Genz Benz 2x10 Cab: This is a mid nineties cab rated at 200 watts @ 8 ohms. It also has a tweeter and a built-in four-space rack above the speakers. It is in good shape. I am asking $100 for it.

4. Acoustic 320 Bass Head: Now, this one will only appeal to you if you know what it is. Basically acoustic was the big bass amp company back in the day. This head was made in the early 70s sometime. You would be hard pressed to find one of these around anymore. It has 350 watts and two channels. Now it had a problem with the fuse a few years ago and stopped working. Like I said before I don’t like old school bass stuff so I could care less about it and don’t want to bother fixing it. It is in rough shape but can still be restored. So I will sell it really cheap. I will set the price at $150 and if you think that is to high you can make me an offer.

I Have No Idea Why [Jun. 11th, 2004|12:00 pm]
[mood |mellowmellow]
[music |Killing The Dream - Picking Up The Pieces]

Yes, so I finally have caved into the pressure of feeling left out of the group and have signed myself up for one of these handy dandy live journals. Who knows if I will ever use it. We'll see.

Anyway, I finally got to get started on my bass tracks for our CD last night. I am really happy with how they are sounding. On Wednesday I went and picked up a Sansamp Bass Driver to help get the sound I wanted on and it helped out a lot. I love this little thing. So I was able to finish up four songs. That leaves five to go and then we are finished with all of the instruments. That is a good feeling. I am starting to see the light at the end of the this whole project.

I am also really looking forward to the XLooking ForwardX, Ten 33 show on June 28. Not only because I am putting it on and also playing that night, but because it is going to be so much fun.

Ok, well, I am running out of things to say and I am getting super hungry. I think there are some left overs in the fridge that are calling my name.
